Festool Toolie

I purchased the Festool Toolie and was excited to get it as I am with any Festool purchase.  The first time I needed it was to keep the two built-in stops on my Domino 500 retracted.  To my surprise and frustration a 2mm allen wrench is required and the smallest on the Toolie is 2.5mm.  I thought that the Toolie was meant to provide all the small tool items you might need to adjust Festool tools.  Obviously that is not the case.  It will be interesting to see how much use the Toolie is.  I didn't start out well for me.

First time I used it was to adjust the feather key on the MFT which takes a 3mm hex and is not found on the Toolie. However the Torx T15 is also 3mm and can be used in its place. Had not found anything so far it could not do until you came along! Sending it back now...

Seriously I have two and like them a lot. So many tools, including Festools, come with loose and unmarked L keys. Seems like I have them all over the shop and I don't know what the heck they do or what tools they are for. I love knowing exactly what to grab when I need to adjust a Festool.

I use mine to change the bases on my OF1400. But quality-wide, the steel is poor. The slotted screwdriver bit is so soft mine bent under virtually no pressure.

Useful? Somewhat. Would I buy one again? No.

I have a Toolie and have had a couple things I couldn't use it on, but didn't realize the torx would work in the place on those hex sizes not on the toolie. With the smaller sizes the torx would have no problem in those applications. Got my MFT table today and had to adjust the set guides on the sides of the MFT, the Torx worked great on it my Toolie for the Metric hex head set screw. May order another to have around.

Plus I like the push out button to flip out the wrenches, which can sometime be hard on the small sizes on regular flip out hex key sets.

I probably did get it as a result of your post Wayne. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of use it's seen.

i have ground down a couple of the torx bits to use as hex bits, I have also ground the ball end off one of the hex bits to use on my makita multi tool as it slipped out with the ball end

I missed out on this set a month or two back when I made an order on CP.  I recall having the option of choosing 1 of 3 freebie items.  I missed out getting the freebie because I think the order process of using PayPal somehow bypassed the option during check out.  Can always try next time around.
