Hi!
So I've been using my CT(L)-SYS for quite a while now and I'm very happy with it. Happy as I was the day I bought it and I still think it's worth it's weight in gold.
I know it's size requires to compromise on filter bag capacity and it's officially considered more of a cleaning tool than a vac to use with power tools.
As of lately my CT(L)-SYS was behaving differently, reduced suction and a constantly opening/closing safety/bypass valve.
Upon inspection of the bag that had very mixed contents of shop cleaning, drilling concrete/masonry, sanding and cutting wood I decided to ditch it although it appeared to be half full only and inserted a new one.
Now I was building a Sys-Port over the weekend from 18mm ply. Had to make quite a couple of cuts with my TSC, drilled a lot, sanded it - all of it ended up in the CT(L)-SYS. During the last minutes suction went down and I could hear the valve again.
I decided to inspect it a little more thoroughly this time.
Taking out the bag very carefully - the Area I marked red was really packed, highly compressed and hard sawdust. As you can see, looking into the bag it seems hardly half full.
Now I carefully cut the bag and laid it open. The formerly compressed sawdust is now lose. You can see the pores of the bag are quite clogged.
Now I wanted to know how much it actually is/was. It's approx. 1.4l - so basically and according to specs it should be possible to get another 2l in. Given the noise and reduction of suction I doubt it. Unless one would shake the CT(L)-SYS to "decompress" the accumulation of sawdust in the back portion of the bag and then go on. Is it meant to work this way? Is it perfectly fine considered what I ask of it?
Kind regards,
Oliver
