Not at all, I welcome the feedback.
1) Do you do bevel cuts? If so, looks like you'd have to remove one of your red side fences to be able to move the stock fence out of the way. That would annoy me.
- Yes, I do bevel cuts but the fences are held on with T track style screw/knobs so easily removable and the mount would stay there. I have screwed in inserts where the mounts are.
2) Placing the saw in the middle may not be the ideal. I typically set my miter saw stations up (yes, I've gone through a few) such that I have one side longer than the other. You might have more room to the left of the blade than the right - hard to tell from your photo.
- I do have more room to the left, and if I need more to the right I can move my workbench albeit that would be a PITA
3) What sort of measuring/stop system are you using? I would suspect flip stops mounted to the red aftermarket fences, but then cutting shorter pieces either means no stop or using the trick of the known length board to extend to a stop and do the subtraction math.
I have the katz moses stop, I'm thinking of installing a t-track system so I can use the those slick flip stops eventually.
4) Have you thought about a ZCI for the rear fence? Having one made a big difference for me in the quality of my cuts.
Is this the one that is the zero clearance fence on etsy? I'll have to look it up but yes I was thinking of a zero clearance fence. I'll check out the ZCI.
