Finishing or waxing MFT top?

I thought I saw some mention of this in a thread but I can't find it.

Do many people finish or wax the top of their MFT?  I just received my TS55/MFT 1080 yesterday and I'm considering putting a coat of Arm R Seal and/or wax on there.  Since it'll be used as an assembly table, I figure that'll help keep it from getting gunked up.  Any cons that I might be missing?

BTW, I'm amazed at how little dust escapes the TS55/CT22 when cutting.  The cuts have been perfect.  My TS will be used much less now.

I had a little wipe on poly left in the container and wiped it onto the MFT top.  Once that cured, i waxed it and buffed it with my RO 150.  I waxed it a couple of times and now, if any glue does drop onto the surface, no problem.  Even tho glue does not seem to stick, i still keep the roll of wax paper for any assembly jobs on the MFT.  Maybe over kill, but the top is clean.  a few saw cuts here and there, especially under the guide bar that is set up "permamently" for square cuts.

I wiped on 2 coats of full strength Minwax poly, soaked it up like a wipe-on but build up was significantly better than a wipe on.  Haven t waxed it yet.

Thanks for the replies.  I'll be putting a couple of coats wipe on poly followed by a coat of wax in the very near future.

Thanks,
