These seem to be sold out or discontinued. Nobody like?

Any idea if & when the next edition will be available?

Any upgrades?

I bought one for a friend but made a First Aid Sortainer instead for myself.
With the Sortainer drawers, they open from either side and easily if you've hurt a finger or hand.
My set-up lives under my Oneida UDD, on top of my CT-22

The style of closer tabs on this version is what kept me from buying the kit in the first place. I have some older systainers with these style rather than the turn knob and I think they are hard to open even with all my fingers strong and in working order - can't imagine doing it with a bleeding hand.

I was hoping that the next version might be improved. Probably worth the effort to make my own.

Because all of the business units I own are required to have sophisticated First Aid stations, I have a 50+ year relationship with a supplier of those supplies. That firm ensures that every First Aid station meets the legal and insurance requirements.

The concept of Festool selling their First Aid Kit is a good idea, especially for the DIY customers.

Because only a small percentage of my Festools are kept in their Systainers at my shop, I have an extensive collection of empty Systainers stored on shelves higher than convenient to reach. My cunning plan is that because those look like brand-new, should I start to sell some of my used Festools, having the correct new Systainers will add to the value. Still, I had 9 Sys 2 Classic that are surplus. All they lacked were red latches with the white crosses.

The genuine ones Festool used on their First Aid Kits were not available as spare parts. So, I bough 3 dozen of the generic scarlet latches from a Tanos dealer, probably Japan Woodworker. Those were not expensive. The silk screen vendor used by my metal fabrication business made me a good deal adding the white crosses. We made wooden dividers for the generic Sys2s, very much as we make drawer dividers routinely. With those dividers and the decorated red latches installed, I turned the 9 wannabe First Aid kits over to my safety products vendor.

Chances are all things added together, I spend more than had I bought the Festool Kits. However, the Sys 1 was not deep enough for the cans and bottles of several products important to me. We keep 2 of our woodworking First Aid Systainers in reserve for going on site. The others are spread around my plant.

I'm getting a couple in this week.  For a while there, I thought that they were discontinued.

Bob, are the ones you are getting just like the one in the photo or a newer style?

Sam,

I'm inquiring right now, but am fairly sure, they will be the 4 latch "classic" style as pictured. If their were and updated TLOC version, it would have had a different skew number.

Though all my festools at the time were in "classics", I bought my very first T-loc (with the multicolor bins)  so that I would have a first aid kit that was easy to transport onto the job site with the rest of my tools.
Now that I have moved many of my tools into T-locs (and are now less easily distinguishable from the first aid kit,) I really wish that somebody in the USA would sell T-loc latches in red.
The T-locs are somewhat less solid than the old latches, but entirely adequate and infinitely easier/faster to use.

Thanks Bob, I guess I'll wait for the next edition or get off my duff and make a version using the T-loc style sustainer.
Festool - please take note  [smile]
