I saw this advertised in a magazine and it looks interesting. Anyone used a tool like this?

I've seen adds around for it when looking for other stuff.  Looks completely random.  I still don't really know what purposes it has.  Much like festool advertising how close the saws can get to the "wall",  I don't really know what applications it has.  Going to this extreme, I'm really not sure.  With a diamond blade I could have used it a couple times on concrete, but that is more of a demolition type application.

I'm sure folks have occasional needs, but how that translates to a dedicated tool for such a task I don't know.  I'd like to hear of places where such a need exist just to fill my curiosity.

Its mainly for cutting in holes or modifying framing in place. There is a bunch of videos on it out there. I think Ron Paulk did a review. It was designed by a framer and he decided to make it a real tool.

Handy for removing damaged flooring to replace it with very little extra work needed. Would save a fortune on flood jobs and likely pay for its self in short order.
Same as a TS55 which gets to 12mm off a wall, most skirting boards is 18mm so its a close enough cut to be covered by the skirting.
That saw gets closer which has its uses.

Depending on how much it was but  I'd consider one.

Is that the saw that Ron called the greatest circular saw ever?  I only saw promo shots on his site.  I hope it works great but I do have to wonder about purchasers and product liability with that exposed blade.

"the blade is still protected provided you don't put your hand in there"    hahaha  from one of the linked videos.

It's definitely interesting, and definitely looks like a wonder tool designed by someone who wanted to make a do-all tool. But it's like any start up company, are you going to put your money in a start up, and one that takes custom blades?

I get where they are coming from and trying to solve things.  I have little doubt if this said festool, mafell, etc down the side folks would be all over it.  As is, I think it will come across as some wonder tool found at harbor freight.  Of course the way it stalked me on Amazon for some time hasn't done it favors with me.

I do like the remote actuated guard opener.  I've never understood the design on normal circular saws, having to put your hand down by the blade to get the guard out of the way to get the cut started has never made sense.
