For the house: CT22 or Miele?

Was considering a Miele for the house, but when I read this from Rick Christopherson:

This is even sillier than Per's, but right now my favorite tool is the Turbo Suction Head that I use on the CT Mini for cleaning my house. My wife's dog sheds 6" long hair that is virtually invisible until it builds up enough to make everything look gray. My upright vacuum can't pick it up, so before I got the turbo head, I had to "rake" the carpet with the Festool floor sweep head, pull the hair out of the brush, and then vacuum the carpet with the standard upright vac. This took several hours just to do the living room. The turbo head can now handle the job in minutes, plus it is light and compact.

I'm thinking an appropriately equipped CT22 might be a better a choice (and in a strange "first" for me - a less expensive alternative).

One big advantage for the CT22 is that in an emergency it can suck up water!

Certainly the CT22 would work, I own a CT22 and a Midi. But for the home I do own a Miele Red Star, it is FANTASTIC!! Also have a Miele LaPerla dishwasher, makes a Bosch look like the made in Mexico piece that it is.
Remember though like Festool...Miele is a BIG jump up in price, my LaPerla was $2,500.

I have the Miele Antares and the CT Mini. I'd take the Miele in the house any day. It's super quiet, has a long, retractable cord. It's light and easy to maneuver. Its bags are less expensive than the Festools. And it comes with all the attachments, so it ends up being cheaper. Plus, it looks much cooler in a house - kind of a mini Ferrari (mine's red). I love my CT for the shop, but I'd do Miele again in an instant for the house. Frankly I wish I'd bought a Miele about 3 vacuums ago...

I did just the opposite; I got a Black & Decker canister vac for my shop.  It is supposedly designed for dog hair; has a little cyclone so the hair drops out before the filter.  And it has a filter cleaning cycle on it.

Very powerful, I rarely have to clean the filter (though running it through a dust deputy probably helps there) and it was way cheaper than German vacuums.  It is noisy, but I usually wear hearing protection in the shop anyhow.

I don't have a Miele (I have an Orek) but I am sure it's better for the house then the CT, that's what it is designed for. Having said that, I often use te Festool vacs - MINI and 22 around the house and they do work well.

  Does anyone know if the Festool black plastic cleaning tubes/ attachments leave black marks on walls , floors and such?

    Do the floor nozzles with castors roll well?

The rubber end of the hose leaves marks for sure. I haven't left any marks with attachments on, YMMV.
We love Dyson for in the house. Screw emptying a bag!
