If you need a profile in an 8mm shank that Festool no longer carries, I did find a supplier in the US that can obtain 8mm shank router bits -- a company from the UK called Titman. I believe Chris Hughes has used them before and maybe others here too. Their US operations is based in CA and they can obtain most everything they make in 8mm shanks in a week or two. Pricing seems very reasonable and this looks like it is a very high-quality brand on par with Whiteside, CMT, Freud, etc... While I have not used them yet (I did order a couple of bits to try), I am optimistic that they will work well. They also have a wide range of 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch and other metric size shanks. In several bit configurations you can get the same profile in different shank sizes -- for example, you can get the same diameter cove bit in 1/4 inch, 8mm, 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch shank size -- handy if you are using the same bit at different depth settings with two different routers equipped with two different collets.

The N. American rep sent me a catalog that is packed with 160 pages of router bits for routers, CNC, shaper tooling and some saw blade. I am trying to get a US price sheet as everything in the catalog is listed in pounds. I can tell you that the US pricing seemed reasonable and was on par with other high quality bits offered in the US.
This is not to be confused with www.titmanusa.com -- this is another supplier in CA that carries the brand, but it is not the actual company.
I have no relationship with the company whatsoever, but I thought I would pass along the information in case anyone was in the market for something in particular. I will be testing them when I get them later this month and I will see how they compare to some of other brands of router bits I have used.
