Strange how you adapt for who you work for hey.   All my clients and builders i work for don't mind spending money so I can work how I like  as you know performance screws especially them long Eco screws I use for roofing are not cheap.

Its nothing to do with money its just the way it is, obviously when I work for a subby I only supply labour usually so I would use their nails screws etc.

Yeah money doesnt come into it take my word for it  [laughing] ;D one guy we do work for invented the chip and pin on your credit card he's worth BILLIONS and knows how to spend it. I should think he owns most of Knightsbridge too  [laughing] and part of the Virgin formula one racing team

i use a bostich gun but nails are a pain to get and not much ceaper either but they are 3.1mm rather than 2.8mm. i use this for studding only but not used it for a long time due to mainly studding in metal now

That's a good point, Dean!

A lot of builders are going with metal framing and self tapping screws, so that impact driver is the way to go if you think that'll happen.

Metal stud I hate Metal studding horrible stuff!  Only any good if you cover it with plywood first before plaster board.

Yeah that's what we do if we use metal stud we put a layer of sterling board on either side. Usually what they spec for schools .

This job I'm on has metal studding all over the entire house all external walls have had metal studding in front.  Some of it being umm I think 7/8 meters high it's crap!  You hit the wall with your fist it sounds tiny/rattely

I must admit not being big headed like but if I had done the metal studding in that house it would of been a better job so less tiny and rattly but still don't like the stuff.  I'll take some pictures and do a video show you what I mean I might pop over 2moro if I feel like it  if not it will Thursday I'll be their.
