FT parallel guide idea

There many types of parallel guides around. Wondering why nobody came up with something like this, based on the circle jig or simple measuring tape. The coil side would be mounted on the rail - light and compact. Steel measuring tapes are rigid enough to extend 1 - 2 m on its own without bending. Perhaps make this one extra beefy, you don't need more than 2 m length.

Interesting. Seems it wasn't widely accepted.

I have never seen anyone from any company design anything similar to that thing. Definitely a weird design.

This was one of the concepts explored by TSO with a digitial display readout. Too many drawbacks. See what we have decided to bring out instead - rigid, bullet proof, easy to use and handle...
