Furniture and Cabinetmaking Magazine

The only reason there's so much app talk here is because I think they've speed distributing hats copies in na. At least I haven't seen any in the magazine ships lately.

Been buying the hard copy for many years now, love it.  I used to buy American Woodworking
& Fine Woodworking but i found them to be very "samey" after a little while so don't bother any more.

My app shows up in the newsstand, and it has downloaded a couple more pages, that's after it downloading all day.

woohoo! got the app and it worked great at grabbing the free issue; flipping through that issue, there's plenty I'll like.  [thumbs up]

Not that $3 is anything to be too concerned about, but it bugs me when I buy an app and it doesn't work cuz then I wonder if it's just a money grab :)  But this one worked for me!  If it worked for you with this new Newsstand version, leave a rating.  Since they don't have enough for this new version yet, it only shows the ratings for that craptastic version (which honestly has no excuse... 2 years with no update on a crashy app? drive-by consultants...  [blink])

amt: were you on wifi that time? believe there's a setting to block content downloads when on carrier data.  For me it was smooth and fast to get the whole thing, but I'm on wifi with it.  Also, if you lock the screen, some apps don't do background downloading correctly and all of them are limited to 10 minutes until you bring them to the foreground. For reference, mine downloaded much faster than 10 minutes.

Well, I installed the app on my Android tablet through the Google App store. I tried to buy a single issue to check out the magazine.
I keep getting an error message that the issue could not be found & the purchase failed.

I gave up & tried to remove the app from my tablet. That has also failed.

Anybody know how to get this thing off of tablet?

That article on Japanese saw sharpening is cool, eh?

I grabbed a different issue. I'll grab that one next. Been forever since I sat and read a woodworking magazine. I only subscribe to Woodworker West magazine because it has a large photo gallery. At the end of my subscription to FWW, I only ever looked at the back cover and the Readers' Gallery. Woodworker West is like 10 Readers' Galleries; dirt cheap, too.  If you're on the west coast, grab it. The rest of the magazine is a lot of event notices.  ScotF would like it.

After I killed the app and restarted it, it was able to download the issue I purchased.

If you're on iOS7, get the new update released yesterday I believe. I was able to download issues with my iPhone (iOS6) but never got one to come down on the iPad (iOS7). Worked right away with the update; the read-me details say iOS7 download problems were fixed.  Reading it on an iPhone... not so fun.
