Anyone know what material the Black Strips are under the guide rails?
Would I be able to buy this type of material from McMaster? We need
wide pieces for a few projects that we're working on that need to be
held in place and not slide around. This would work good.

Thanks All  [tongue]

Not sure what to call it - rubbery foam? But, Festool sells it as a replacement.  Looks like $26 for 10m. #485724

Or were you looking for different sizes, etc.

I am amazed that once it got "sawdusted" it is still sticky with just a wipe.

It looks and feels like Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA). If it smells vinegary it probably is.
It's also used for high-quality sleeping mats (camping supply).
But you might be better served (cheaper)by using dubble-sided sticky-tape.

[member=48292]Stevec717[/member] - Looking for bigger pieces/sheet size maybe.

[member=23615]charley1968[/member] - hmmm... I will look into that. No tape... must be able to move
and not slide, just like the rails.

Sort of like the shelf liners you see in the home stores.
Maybe I just use that... still would like to know.

Thanks guys

Lee Valley.  Go to woodworking, type in bench pucks and tap that.
They have 24"x36"

I'm surprised no one has yet suggested router matting. So cheap for large sheets.
