The extensions are rock solid. The short one clips right on, the long one has a nicely designed leg, it does not rack at all. Very nice engineering.

Post back when you get it running and let us know how you like it . Felder Delaware is 30 mins away from me , I keep meaning to stop there and run some machines . I was checking the HAmmer A3 JP out at the wood show a few months back , that's a nice machine .

I'm one of the ones that is anxiously waiting for the ship to come in....literally. I'm sorry to say that up to this point I have been incredibly underwhelmed by the level of customer service provided by Hammer/Felder. I'm confident the machine will live up to expectations. I'm hoping that the level of service that comes with the machine will improve.

My rep said the ship is due in port on Sunday, so the machines should be delivered within 10 days of arrival. [cool]

i ordered a A3-31 J/P and Felder FB 510 bandsaw that I was told is on the ship expected coming in "late april". I sent my sales rep an email today for an update,....i'll let you guys know what I hear from him when he responds.

Talked to Leia at Felder USA this morning and my unit is on the way! I have a tracking number too! I think if you want the best information regarding the status on your unit you might consider calling Leia as she has been quite pleasent to deal with has been very helpful. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my unit. So give Leia a call at Felder USA and see if she can narrow down your shipment time!
I ordered a Felder FB 510 bandsaw and a Hammer A3-31 J/P on April 5th and was told the transport ship would arrive in late april for an early may delivery.
Today's update from Felder is that the ship those machines are on is scheduled to enter the US port on Sunday April 28th. It usually takes 1 day to clear customs, Felder should have the machines early next week (end of april/start of may), it can take a day or two to process at the Delaware location, and then it should be shipped late next week or early the work week of june 6-10 and it should take 2 days to reach me in central Vermont.
If all goes to plan, the target is that I should have the machines sometime between June 8th and 10th.
That's the latest info I have.

Just checked on my baby and it was last seen in Wilmington, Ohio. So I do not know if others are "truck-pooling" their way across the good ol USA or not. But if they are then it should be next week sometime when deliveries occur. Most likely they will go from east to west in the delivery sequence. So our friends in California will be later in the week. I think Arizona would be pretty close to the same time frame. My baby is coming to south Texas hopefully midweek like Wednesday. Arizona should happen maybe a day or two later. So hang in there are babies are soon coming to their respective homes!

Been there...I order critical tool or part and after many calls and assurances that delivery will be met to the promised schedule, get a call that there's: a) none in stock, B) it's going to be late or C) have to pay extra to get it on time only to discover when I do finally get it, I ordered incorrectly.
Hopefully you will get your machine in a week or two and all will be well.

Received my unit on May 2nd! It is rather imposing in its size. The machine comes packaged with some cardboard wrapped around the outside which on mine looked like it had some rough treatment. I asked the delivery driver if he could stay for a moment so I could unwrap the machine and look to see if all was well with it. The machine appeared to be in satisfactory condition. It comes delivered with a very short power cord which has no plug on the end. Therefore I went to my local LOWES and purchased a 220 volt 20 amp plug and fitted it onto the end of the cord.

Also note that there is 20 feet of 10-3 service cord with a 30 amp plug on it. This makes for compatibility with my 30 amp service which I also use for my LAGUNA bandsaw.

After calling FELDER support and reading on the papers that came with the unit that the upstream service should be no more than 20 amps this is what prompted me to build my power adaptor sled. The sled does many functions. It provides the proper receptacle for a 20 amp plug to the A3 31, contains the correct service breaker (20 amp) to provide the recommended protection for the A3 31 and has an extension cord with the correct plug for fitting into my 30 amp service receptacle. A busy but useful little accessory for my new baby.

Another item that needs to be addressed is the fit of the dust extraction hose. The A3 31 comes with a 120 mm outlet which is 20 mm more than the standard hose. I went to WOODCRAFT and they had a 120 mm to 100 mm adaptor which I affixed to the outlet on the A3 31 with some layers of aluminum air-conditioner duct tape. With multiple layers of tape it should prove stable enough.

Of course there has to be a picture of my new baby and here it is! She is ready to face some timber!

Now the tables are flipped up and the dust shoot rotated for the thicknessing operation.
I must say some things about this unit right away. It is built like a tank! The jointer tables are substantially heavy. The fence seems to be fairly sturdy as well. I ordered mine with the silent power cutter head and it is QUIET. It makes less noise than my 1.5 HP dust collector. While running timber through the planer or jointer function one can converse and be heard easily. Due to safety we know we should not talk while operating the unit but I stated that just as an example of how quiet this machine is in operation. It seems to be very smooth running. The lever to enable the feed rollers on the planer is fairly stiff and requires a good bit of force to actuate. Hopefully with time it will become easier. When I get my lifting kit I will update. Also I am on the fence of whether I should keep the inches dial indicator or get the metric one.
