I want to purchase a 1400 router and hang it under a router table. I don't wish to purchase the Festool router table due to it's cost. What is the best way to hang the router if anyone has successfully done this? I don't need a lift feature for the router. What brand of router table insert should I buy?

Any router table/fence/plate combo with a blank plate will work, I believe. Rockler sells all of these, both MDF and phenolic; not the top of the line tables but a Rockler MDF table/fence combo with an Incra positioned made for Rockler has server well for about 10 years. I can't really find anything wrong with it and it won't cost you anywhere near as much as some of the others like Woodpeckers, Kreg, Incra, Bench Dog, and Excalibur. The blank plate will allow you to drill it just for the OF1400 since I know of no plates already drilled for the 1400.

I made a router table a few years back similar to Guido's. It works quite well but I have got rid of it now in favour of the safety and accuracy of the CMS-OF and my heavy duty UJK table.

I managed to find some pictures.
