Help an old dog learn a new trick

Thats a good idea buying and setting up the trailer Looks good. best of luck with triming the house

I like the idea of using metric, but US appliances don't come in metric sizes. So your range and dishwasher cutouts need to be in inches and probably the refrigerator and over the range microwave.

I'm using Blum hinges, so the front row of 5mm holes will be 32mm system, but my cabinet outer dimensions will be in inches.

You might be able to get away will 100% metric if you used all imported appliances, but that is impractical and too expensive for me.

Thankfully my calipers are as handy as my tape measure and flipping between english and metric for ply thickness and router bits!

Yep. I got an iGaging IP54 which easily switches between millimeters, imperial decimal and imperial fractions (down to 1/128!). This really helps me out sometimes.  I also use an Incra Precision T-Rule a lot and it goes down to 64ths - gonna get a metric one next.

Have fun with the new Festools and stay on FOG to get answers to both the easy and hard questions. The people here have helped me a lot over the last few years.

Well, I've tried the metric thing and with the exception of adjustable shelf holes, closet system holes, it has been to difficult to transition and get anything done.  First project was built-in closet cabinets from floor to ceiling (10' ceiling using 9" tall base and crown that will cover 5-1/2" vertical.  Covered a total of 45 lf of walls.  Next was installing some factory built cabinets. Crown molding, toe kick and matching end panels not installed yet.  Festools are working as advertised and I have been very pleased with every tools performance.

nice job.
It looks good.

Yea the metric thing is difficult to get used to. But keep at it.

It will get easier.

I use my MMP Calc app on my Iphone and IPad to help me with the conversions. I do bounce back and forth (imperial/metric) when I can.

The calc makes it a lot easier
