Hi there, long time reader, first time posting.
I just started adding some green stuff to my setup, one of them is a TS55 that I got from my uncle, he got it as a payment from a job, but while it works well (the motor at least) it's missing some parts that I want to order but the only one I can identify from the diagram is the cover.
Do any of you that own a TS55 can see any part more needed from my photos?

Thank you for your help

Welcome to the forum,

I don't know where you're located, but I would visit your country's festool site, and check the ekat spare parts catalog, then you'll see een exploded view drawing of all the parts, and ordernumbers and prices for all the parts.

There are different versions of the saw you have, just go to the drawing with the number that matches the sticker on the motor.

(From what I can see you're missing the cover and screws, the dustport, the plugit cable, the arbor bolt and flanges, the tiny metal thingy that holds up the clear windowthing, the windowthing, the green antisplinterthing with nut...(and of course a sawblade, and the allen key that stores in the handle) Probably you have a few of those parts and the systainer.

If you tell me where you're from I can guide you to the ecat (on most sites it's go to the "service" tab, and navigate to "spare parts catalog" or something like that)

Hi, thank you for your reply, I'm from Portugal, I already checked the exploded view, and figured that I need the dust port and cover, my problem is identifying the small parts you mentioned like screws etc that I don't know if they are included in the cover when ordered for example. Oh I have the blade, cable and Allen key.

Thank you a lot for the help

Problem is, we can't inspect your saw detailed enough from these pictures you provide. You wil have to study the Ekat yourself, and see if you can find every part that is displayed there.

What you need to know about screws, is that you order every screw separately. They are not included with the cover.

What I learned myself the hard way, if it says "Quantity" = 5 in the Ekat, it means you need to order that screw 5 times. You don't get 5 screws in one package. Most of the time, one part number means you get one part.

Only time you get multiple parts for one spare part number is when you see a fork draw in the Ekat like below.

So if you order part 65 you get all the parts that are indicated by the lines, including parts 61 to 64.

Looks to me from your pictures you're also missing riving knife 462115 and spring 462275.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Once you calculate what your time is worth, wouldn't it be easier to buy a pre-owned one which is complete and working correctly?

No. And free time doesn't have a value you can express in money.

The riving knife Alex mentioned is for the previous version of the saw, the ts 55 ebq, this is a ts 55 Rebq, and that only has the little tab instead of the longer riving knife.

I looked at the drawing for the 498500 version of the saw, and for the cover (nr 7 partnr 499323) it looks like you get number 8 and number 27 with it (those are the little metal spring and window thing aka vision panel I was talking about)

I bookmarked a thread about it, when I changed the dustport on my saw for a newer version and had to put the tiny thing back Link to thread

number 6 are the screws (400710)

numbers 28, 29, and 30 are for the green splinterguard (the splinterguard is a consumable, and comes in a five pack)

Instead of the dustport nr 16 (202096), I installed a newer version than what came originally with my saw, that was an adapter to use the dustbag for the cordless version but I think you'll get an even newer version, with the knubs, for the new bajonetstyle hose automatically if you order it. (The part I ordered then was 10015824, but it isn't a current part anymore)

Usually if I need to order parts, I just print out the ekat list and drawing, and use a marker to show which parts I need ordered when I go to the store.

My experience is, that it's a bit of a crapshoot, when I lost the cover with the hook for my syslite (the thing you slide off if you want to put on a battery), on ekat it showed that the cover and the hook had seperate ordernumbers, so I ordered them both, and got a cover with hook, and an extra hook. When I ordered replacement scales for my cs70 I think the little screws were included, and when I ordered a chargeport and a new lense for the syslite, they put the plastic case parts with it as an extra.

Yes, it is a bit of a crapshoot for sure. But I ordered so many parts over the years for dosens of tools I've refurbished, and I'd say at least 90% of the parts I got was a single part. And then indeed sometimes there's extra things in there you didn't expect.

If the part is cheap, like screws, it's best to order the number you need, better have a few too much than a few too little and wait another two weeks.

If you order parts on line, watch the postage.  I was replacing missing parts like you are doing, and by deleting one washer from my order, the postage dropped about $8.00.  My supplier used the total dollar amount to charge postage.  So I played around until I got below that up charge.
