I'm looking for hex shank drill bits in fraction (not metric) sizes that work with my CXS drill.

Birdhunter  First Welcome to the FOG, you will like it here and everyone will do what they can to help...

As for Imperial Hex Shank Bits, Dewalt and Irwin both make them but they will not fit in the Centrotec bit. You would have to insert it directing into the drill without the Centrotec bit or use the Jacobs chuck that comes with the drill.  Although Festool does make an adapter BHS-65 for not Centrotec Hex bits, I feel the combo of adapter and bit might be to long to handle easily.

I just spoke to a Festools rep a few days ago and was told that Snappy had shown some per-production drill adapters compatible with the Centrotec chuck. Of course I only found out about this after having bought one of their standard drill adapter sets.

All hex shank drill bits work with the CXS. But you have to use the Jacobs chuck like you would with any other brand drill.

If you want to use the smaller Centrotec chuck, then you'll have to buy real Festool Centrotec bits. They make an imperial set, as mentioned above.

It is however possible to use any brand of hex bits in the Centrotec chuck if you're willing to modify the hex shank with a file or grinder. The procedure has been described in a couple of threads here on the FOG.

Do you still have some of the imperial sets in stock ?
