Hi, having just became a festool owner for the first time I decided its time to introduce myself and ive a few questions also. Well I'm from Ireland, being doing carpentry and general construction for close to 15 years and finally bought in to festool, hasn't been the greatest experience so far but want to make the most of it from here on. Well i ordered the ctm36 ac hd and the ets ec150 together sept10th to this day I still haven't received the sander but just got notification its on the way and the vacuum arrived cracked, that has being resolved by me receiving the cracked piece as a replacement part. Anyway first question that needs answering, is the hose received with this vacuum really only suitable for the planex and should I be replacing it. Second, will any of the floor cleaning kits work with existing hose if I dont need to replace it. Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum!  Sorry to hear about what appears to be shipping damage.  I wish that I could help you with your questions but I don't have that CT.  BUT others here do and I am sure an answer will be coming up.

Hi [member=59339]Turner85[/member] and welcome to the FOG.

There are a couple of versions of the CTL 36 E AC, including your HD version and a PLANEX version. The former comes with a 36mm to 32mm tapered green/black standard hose, and the latter with the black PLANEX hose.

If it's like the first picture, you're good to go with your ETS EC and the cleaning kits. If it's like the second picture, you'll need someone with a PLANEX hose to confirm as I'm unfortunately not "in the know" with regard to those.

The sander has a 27/22mm hose connection. A 36/32mm (green) antistatic hose (as delivered with a CT AC HD) won't fit as of having a too big connector. No idea about the (black) planex hose (as I have no clue about it's diameter) but as it's made for drywall dust it quite possibly isn't antistatic thus, should it fit, you might need to disable the exctaction detection in the sander.

Ideal hoses for the sander (and the other things made for the 27mm hoses) are the 201758 (5m) or 200051 (10m), these fit all current extractors and hide the cable in the sleeve so it dosn't get in the way. Not cheap (sadly) but ease the work quite a bit.

It is in fact the first one, ive also purchased the sleeved hose with the sander so thats not an issue. It's the floor cleaning kit which was my concern. Will it work without any form of adaptor with my current hose (green one)

It was indeed shipping damage and they also sent me the standard ets150 sander instead of ec version so i had to return that and then they had to wait to receive my replacement from festool. Being six weeks now and I haven't received my sander. Frustrating but it's finally on route, let's hope it's in one piece. Thanks

Yes; the D 27 and D 36 references you see in the cleaning kits refer to the diameter of the tool end of the hose that can be used. Your CTL 36 E AC HD ships with a D 36/32x3,5m-AS hose so has the D 36 tool end.

With most things Festool that can use both the D 27 and D 36 hoses, the D 27 hose end goes "in" to it and the D 36 end goes "over" it; hence the reason the cleaning kits can support both the D27 and D 36 hoses.

Cleaning set works just fine with the 36 mm hose, but you always need the bend piece first. The 36 mm hose fits inside it, but doesn't fit to any of the other pieces like the 27 mm hose does. You always need the bend piece as interface.
