I know that we all moan about festool prices etc but at least we know what we are paying, wanted a price on hilti bits and i have to request a quote, think is i am an account holder so would have thought i could just sign in and see the prices grrr. rant over

Most stuff you can see the price I registered back when I was looking at laser levels and the prices showed but perhaps they dont show for everything. Hilti seem to prefer to sell fixings and give you drills etc free with the fixings in my experience.

well they dont in my experience they dont, £1.5k on resin and still had to buy the frigging gun not only that the price were the same on the resin if we bought 1 bloody tube

I don't know the Hilti-habits outside Germany but here it's always bargaining with the local Hilti sales rep. There are different scales of discount for the various product groups and sometimes it's possible to get an additional discount. The last time I ordered fixings, DX-stuff and dowels in excess of 1000 Euros I got a very decent storage rack for free - the 3rd in three years, very useful in my shop :)

I got the 22V-set incl. carrying case, charger, 2 batteries, SFH-22A, TE4-A22, 2 drill-sets, 1 bit-set for 699 Euros and got the 22V LED lamp for free. I usually aks for "samples", this are tools the rep had in his car for a few weeks - they are like new. have the full warranty but the price is less than for a "new" tool. In my expirience with Hilti in the last ten years, it's newer wrong to aks for some free goods - the rep will weep and start telling stories about the ten little children he has to feed but usually he will offer something on top. Like a bazaar ...

I had the same Hilti price frustrations, but there is now a builders merchant here that sells Hilti. The guy's helpful and happy to do a deal on the (exorbitant) list price. I am a bit wary however now that most of the tools seem to be made in China. I know it's irrational as this is being typed on a Chinese built iPad but I wonder if their new stuff is as indestructible as the old Hilti stuff?

its all about knowing the right rep like the 1 that sold me a £700 tool for £200 cash but that is underhand, we tried everything and their basic responce was you have been speced hilti resin buy it for this or good look getting anywhere but from us!!

Just for fun - which exact product and quantity was this resin? I'll ask my rep for a quote. From Germany to UK the prices shouldn't differ very much.

Are you sure? I am currently getting the run around on prices from lots of different outfits.  I often buy stuff in the UK as it is much cheaper than in France.  My latest problem is a Virutex edgebander - best price from my local dealer 2,600 euros. 1,900 euros from a hardware store in Spain. Jet oscillating sander - about 1500 euros I think from Axminster about 2200 euros in France. I will be interested to hear what Hilti are like

OI! what about the Wii  [big grin]    I got black ops on the Wii last week and yes it is good. Im very impressed you can even talk online with it now if you buy the headset like xbox has had for ages.

[smile] Also working my way through Black Ops right now. Gameplay is hectic but good. I do find it all a bit too scripted for my taste, and the levels are way too short.

Do you guy's not realise that criminals are taking over the world while you float through black ops in cyberspace? [blink]
