Last year I bought a used HL850 E for a very good price from a user who thought the blade cut unevenly (up to 2mm). I have not found this to be the case, but I've not used it much either. It didn't come with any of the accessories and I got the Rebate Stop. However, when I went to attach it, I discovered that the square M6 nut is not inside the case where it should be. I do not know whether the previous owner had opened it up and lost it, or it just was never installed. Either way, the planer is old enough to be well out of warranty and I ordered both the M6 Nut (228566) and O-ring (200052).

Has anyone installed this part or taken the HL 850 apart? From what I recall, it seems to me that the front table can be removed to access the place where the nut would go?

Thanks!

This is so coincidental as I've been posting pulling the HL850 apart with another poster here. First off yes it all comes apart easily once you manage to eyeball all the hidden screws, some of which you need to take off the green depth lever and lock to get to. But I would say be careful, there's a thin mylar type material around the post for the front plate to reduce friction when adjusting.

This can be easily damaged depending on how old the planer is and how much effort it takes to pull apart.
