Here is my version of the arm, used the 2" central vac pipe with a couple HD shop vac fittings. Made a bracket to hold it to the wall and back of work bench, short piece of hose connects it to the DD, a fitting from the HD  vac kit slides over the tube then the festool hose plugs in nice and snug. The green stuff is expandable braided sleeving from Cable ties and more, it`s the 1 1/2" size which is listed to to fit 1"-2 1/2". It took a few minutes to slide it on, it makes the hose a little stiffer but I think it`s going to be OK. Before this I had the cord attached to the hose with those Velcro straps which seam to catch on everything. The sleeving is smooth enough to slide past rather than snag on stuff. The hose is a little shorter than stock at 8'7", you can see it hangs over the bench with just enough slack to work back and forth.

Nice!, did you block off one side one branch of the Y and if so, how? I've been wanting to make one of these for awhile now.

I didn`t block it off, I don`t think it makes a difference
