Well, I've finished mine!
Made from left-over wood from two cabinets I got for free from someone. Just had to pay for the rails and the domino's.

Sorry I didn't notice your post before!  Very nice Sysports!

I really need to build a Sysport (or two, or three), as my Systainers are starting to become unwieldy.  Well, not the Systainers themselves, but it always seems the one I need is in the middle of the stack, and I end up spending a lot of time unstacking, then re-stacking the whole "Systainer tower."

I know a lot of members have the same problem, which is why this topic is one of the most popular ones in the forum.  There have been so many great home-made Systainer ideas posted here, we have a lot to choose from.  So many, in fact, I havea hard time figuring out which one to go with.

I wonder whether we should encourage all those who built home-made Systainers to post more detailed plans?  That would help those of us who still need to build one.

Or perhaps that is too much to ask?  After all, you did post photos!

Thanks for all the terrific ideas,
Matt

Nice double side-by-side Sysports.  I noticed that spme of the Systainers have blue latches, not Festool green.  What are they?

Dave R.

Dave: those systainers are from the maker of Festool systainers.

I ordered a few dark grey Systainers from Tanos in Germany - a whole set consisting of five different size Systainers to put my other junk in. They latch onto the Festools if needed.

You can order a few different colors and have your own latches made with logo too - I'd provide you the link but I am afraid you would get hooked. ;)

The systainer with the blue latches contains the Power File BF 1 E.
That great tool isn't available anymore...
But, yeah, I'm thinking of buying those green latches for it. Let's face it: I even bothered to find me the (pretty much) exact same color green for my drawers, so why not buy these latches  ::)

You are very lucky man, I have been trying to find one of those for years!!!!! I know of at least 3 of those here in the States, but they won't part with them

Pictures!!! I want to see a power file, even if I have absolutely no use for it..... :D

So then from what I can see, the stand alone BF 1 E was replaced by a conversion arm (BF-V) for the RAS115 (which is still available?) that makes the grinder function as a power file. Interesting.

Yeah, now that you mention it - sure looks like it. I didn't know that.
Again: the power file (the original or the replacement) is a very handy tool!

Thanks for the link!!

Onhttp://www.markserv.com.sg/electric9.htm it shows the attachment ( BF-V ) for the RAS 115.  It looks like a great addition to the RAS 115.

I just completed a job that I tried every combination of LS-130 attachments, DX-93 with extended base, & finally the Festool hand sanding block but still couldn't get at some spots that this BF-V attachment appears to be able to reach.

I'd like to pick one of the BF-V with a full set of attachments for my RAS 115.  Festool USA are you listening?

Jim,
Those attachments are interesting.  I've used the RAS 115 for a few projects in recent months, and it has always impressed me with its power.  But I had not known about the attachments that are available for it.  I can imagine all kinds of uses for them.

I'm kind of having a hard time imagining how they actually work, though.  How does a spinning, circular pad make these square pads work in a tight spot?  I'm sure there's something I'm missing here.

Thanks for the link.  I'm going to start a separate discussion on this (so we don't hijack the home-made Sysport discussion).

Matthew

Hi,

Looks to me like the arm sticking out front has a very narrow sanding belt wrapped aroound it. So the spinning motion of the RAS 115 runs the belt around the arm.

Seth

Oops, I should have posted this on the seperate discussion for it.  I have added it there also.

Sorry guys the belt file or the attachment are no longer available, not even in Europe.

Ditto on Pauls post, nor are the wire brushes that were shown as accessories.  Evidently, the wire brushes would have changed the "class" of the sander.

I know they're the antithesis of Festool, but I noticed that Harbor Freight is selling a band file (or whatever you want to call it).  I think it was $20.  The replacement belts for it were

One more thing:  I saw a Festool folding carpenters rule with metric being used on the Domino promo vides.  I contacted Bob Marino and he said he can't get them.  A folding rule like that would sure come in handy.  Anybody know how to get one?

I was given mine. It's good but unlike what I thought was a standard folding rule, it doesn't have the sliding brass bar at the end to get an exact physical measure. AFAIK, it's included with the Festool three ring binder, along with a few other little doodads.
