Homemade domino tenons with plywood?

If you guys are talking Sipo I can tell you there is a massive saving to be made making your own. Have you seen the price of those you cut to length! A few off cuts and half an hours work and you have twice that or more. I don't mind earning 200 Euros an hour!!

Considering the time you'd spend making the vs. what they cost, just buy them.

I don't know about you, but my time is worth way too much for me to bother with that.

More than 200 Euros an hour! You're doing well. Congratulations!

I am not sure one can take something that they would be unlikely to buy and form a good cost savings argument.
The long ones in bulk are cheaper than the cut to length ones though.

Unlikely to buy? Sorry don't understand. I thought this was bout making your own dominos.Just saying if you need a lot of  dominos especially the big Sipo ones  you cans save a lot of money making your own. I don't know how much the pre-cut ones are but the bulk long lengths are not cheap at all. You don't get many 140mm tenons from a box for 115 Euros. I can easily make the same amount in half an hour. So amend the above hourly rate to 230 Euros an hour. I don't know what you guys earn but I'll take it thanks very much. [smile]

I make a lot of dominos with my walnut cutoffs. I make them with a band saw and a hand plane upside down in my vice. I find it very relaxing when the Yankees are playing late on the west coast. The problem is, it has become difficult to throw away scraps. I can't imagine how bad it would get if I couldn't throw away plywood scrap....
