Horrible Site Lag

Festool USA or admins,

Any reason behind the site lag?  It has been awful for more than a couple of weeks now.  Some days I just give up.  I can't be the only one?

This is only going to lead to more people giving up, which will lead to the loss of a valuable resource.

Hopeful that this has been noticed and is being addressed by the FOG lead team?

Hmmm, I wonder if this is a German problem or if it's an American issue?

If it's a German issue, I just may grow extra fingers before it's resolved.

If it's an American issue, I may become president before it's resolved.

Either way, the opportunities for me are vast.  [big grin]

I just did a lookup and it's an Amazon AWS IP in the US.

Must say for a website owned by a global corporation the size of Festool this is exceedingly poor IT management.

Doesn't reflect very well on management in my opinion.

When all the posts from four days fit on one page…it’s bad.
This thread has had several hundred views but just a few posts, a phenomenon common to a few other sites I visit from time to time. Some threads may carry even a coupe of thousand views, but still, the actual number of exchanges in them is embarrassingly small. I suppose that's the kind of future for many forums.

But the recent IT issues in this forum haven't helped.

This!  For the less prolific poster like myself I just steer away from the site knowing I’m not going to get too far behind

Hey everyone - was just looped into the slowness!  Looking into it now.

Thanks,

Matt

Services were going crazy on the back end.  Restarted a few things and seems the site is back to normal.  @ me if you see them return.

Thanks,

Matt

[member=76259]MattFestool[/member] - The site was great for about 5 or 10 minutes this morning, apparently right arounf the time that you restarted things.  It's back to abysmal as of this posting, 0911 CDT on 28-AUG-2023.

Matt, it has its moments...hour after hour of delays and then suddenly it gets back to normal for maybe 10 minutes or less and then it returns to its sluggish behavior. It's even been that way at 1:00 AM CST. It's been like this for the last week.

FWIW... [member=76259]MattFestool[/member] ... Michael Kellough tagged me at 12:25 but I didn't receive the notice until 12:52. Now that's unusual.  [jawdrop]

Thanks - appreciate the feedback [member=44099]Cheese[/member]  and Ron

We're still monitoring a few things, and prepping to do some snapshots and updates here in the next little bit.  Might have to lock the forums for a bit so there's no data loss, but hopefully we'll get things working better here shortly!

Matt
