Hose Cord combos

I just installed Festool Neon Green 1.25" PET from cableorganizer.com and it seems to work great. I used tape for the ends but I need to find some shrink tubing to finish it up. That plus I need another heavy gauge Plug-it cord for my second hose since I don't want to use the lighter gauge and not be able to run the router with that hose/cord combo.
Nick, yes I would do it again. I ordered 30' of the 1.25" stuff and I was able to cover two hoses with about 4' left over. I think the Festool hoses are 11' long or there abouts so it is not exactly one for one sizing so order a little extra.nickao said:
Installation is easy if you remove one end of the hose coupling and when you cut it you're going to want to use a hot knife or soldering iron so the ends don't fray.

Would I be able to fit the hose and two cords through that sleeve. I was wanting to put my DeWalt cord and Festool cord through. The De Walt's have a plug it type system too. I am ready to order and I am going to get the bigger sleeve also for my second boom arm where I run the larger hose.

Yea, both will fit easily on the smaller hose. This sleeve expands quite a bit and in the pic below you can see it fits quite nicely on the larger hose with one power cord....two would probably work though I cant guarantee it. I like the snug fit on the larger hose though it is a little bit more difficult to slip on.

Since you're sleeving both size hoses I'd go with the 2" stuff below. I wish I had seen it when I ordered but I may order some more sleeving for my other hoses.

Thanks, I ordered the 2" in black and the 1 1/2" in yellow. I Got a yellow sleeve to match the DeWalt routers and yellow hoses I already have on one boom arm and ordered green sleeve for my Festool hose on the other boom arm. A black light and my shop will look cool at night!

I used what I think is the same or a similar product that you were asking about. It is a braided sleeve. It reminds me of something I used to play with as a kid - I knew them as Chinese Handcuffs. If you push the sleeve together, it expands. If you try to pull it, the diameter decreases and shrinks down. I also used the heat-shrink cuffs at the end. I think it works very well. Keeps the cord and hose organized and protected. On the hose I have connected to my boom arm, I only ran the sleeve up to where the arm starts. I didn't think there was any reason to go farther than that. For what it's worth, I extended the power cord 11 inches/280 mm beyond the end of the hose. That gives you just enough slack to plug things in with the least amount of slack. Of all my Festools, the tool that needs the most slack (distance from vac port to plug-it) is the MFK 700 with the clear dust port mounted below. The tool that needs the least is the ETS 125. There are probably other tools that require more or less, but within my arsenal, those were my parameters. If it will help, I can check my records to find out exactly what products I have and where I purchased them. I know I have different sized sleeves and cuffs for different size hoses, but I'm not exactly sure what they were off-hand.
