how t ouse Freud 1/4 or 3/8 shank

Hi,

I have 1400 router. It came with 8 mm and 1/2 shank adaptors. Is there way to use 1/4 or 3/8 shanks? I have same Freud router bits in mind and they have either 1/4 or 3/8 shanks.

Just get the 1/4" and 3/8" collets.  Part # 492141 & 494464.

OF 1400 should have come with 1/4",  8mm and 1/2" collets.

I was the same way with the two black rods. Did not see them down there in the bottom of the Systainer.  [big grin] But I found them.

For those needing collets - the ELU 3HP plunge router uses the exact collets the 1400 does, and we can assume the Dewalt 625 does as well as it's an ELU clone.

Even the wrench is identical to the 1400's.  Looks like Festool does not make their own collets - alternative parts sources for the Dewalt might be a less expensive way to buy additional collets if you needed them.
