How to center a domino

Hello, I recently purchased a domino.  Nice tool.  But today I have some 1/2 inch stock and am trying to figure out how to center the small domino.  Any suggestions?  Any suggestions on centering dominos in general on how to center dominos on stock?  especially the mm to inch thing.

The domino has settings down to 16 mm (about 5/8").  For 1/2" (12mm) , you have to use a 1/8" shim or do this modification:

Domino on 1/2" Stock

I did this and made some drawers today using 1/2" maple ply. (I didn't have any Baltic birch on hand).
