? How to Make Yarn Rack

My wife wants me to make one of these:

From this photo I see one diagonal is long solid board whereas the other is short segmented. Think I have seen for similar design where a slot is cut through 1/2 the width of the boards

Any help on how to make it appreciated.

Practice on some scraps and when you get it the rest is a piece of cake.

All the diagonal interior boards are notches halfway through. Good project for an HKC or TS saw with a rail square.

Are you planning on something the same size as what you show in the photo.

Hard to tell but that one looks to be made from 2x and 1x material 6 or 8 inches wide.

I think if you look closer at the photo you'll see that the board are notched as evidenced
at this one intersection in the upper left of your photo.
