Well I went to woodcraft store and pick up the parrell guides, had to buy the display because that was the only set they had, and no box and fortunately I new how to use them as nobody there did. but thats sorta okay.

I needed them that day as I am doing a set of 4 bookcases and had lots of same rip sizes to cut. so I went and bought them and they actually worked very well and saved time and was very easy.

I learned how to use them at the festool cabinet class and refreshed on a search on this forum.

so if anybody makes repeated cuts I highly recommend them. I only bought the basic set.  I will post some pics tomorrow using them especially with my 2 table set up it makes it really nice.

I have the parallel guides as well.  I agree, they work great.  I am interested in seeing how you use them with 2 MFTs.  I use them on a couple of saw horses without a problem.

So Kreg what about cutting out a bunch of Toe Kicks, would they rock for that? I like the Idea posted on a form some where of using them as a T-Square (it may have been Brice.) Money's still tight but the TS55 and Systainers make money and so I can spend some there.

here are a few pics using the parrell guides with 2 tables.  note I am knocking down full sheets of ply so the guides worked well with 2 tables.

as far a toe kicks you have to buy the added pieces to cut smaller cuts less than I think 7"..  would work good as so would a good table saw also for strips, which is one thing a table saw is good for.  but the guides work fine.

I really saved time ripping down 2 sheets into 10 3/4" runs for shelves. and for 11  1/4 for shelves 8 pieces.  I will get a lot of use out of this guides and well worth the investment for what I do.

probably so, have not seen that before.  thanks now I have to go and buy that accessory !  lol

here is a finished picture of the unit  I was building  the shelves were in the garage drying .  and with making 16 shelves again the parrell guides saved time ripping down the sheet goods, then I used the kapex to size to lenghth.

why the kapex and not the mft 3, because I did not have the rails set up at the time.

Where did a garage show up that was that clean? up here in Canada I have to shoe horn myself in...
Thanks for the photo, I think Brice said it worked for TK's... the thing with the table saw on site is out feed and the side support. This just looks a lot safer.

Nice work, Kreg!

I bought the parallel guide extensions with the set which are great for narrow strips.  I had to cut some window jamb extensions for an old, out of plumb building in which the new windows had been installed plumb.  I cut my stock to the rough length and set the guide extensions to the measurement for depth at each end.  They were about 1,300mm long and had to be 5mm at one end and 8mm at the other.  The rail with the parallel guides + extensions cut a perfect taper.  I can't think of an easier, more accurate way to do this.

I installed them with glue and my Grex pin nailer and trimmed the windows as normal (Gary Katz method; 4mm dominoed miters) from there.

hey thanks,  I know about garages.  most of the ones I work in have a pretty nice area to set up shop in... and it makes it nice with the festool stuff to keep it cleaner.  then I use my 230mph blower and blow it out all over the outside !  clean done deal.
