Just curious , what do you mean it wasn't installed properly ?

[member=1584]joiner1970[/member] The fence isn't centered on the carriage , it was installed too far too the left (thus the gap on the right).  Since it's so far to the left, dead center is outside of the adjustment range for the clear window on top.  THe pivots are held in place with 2mm set screws but they're cranked down so tight that they can't be loosened (or they use a loctite type compound that requires heat to break.  Apparently I'm not the only one, seems like there are quite a few people with the same issues and Festool has them send the tool back.

It is difficult to see the offset in the photo. The cutter does not come to rest dead centre of course.

Wow that's some nice kit you got there, how'd you like your Felder?

So far i like the shaper quite a bit. I have yet to really use it to be honest. Soon though very soon. The cutters are a fortune so getting set up to a tually use is will take some time.

I also have a brand new AD941 that although i like very much i am having big problems with!

I have FD250 slot mortiser that is sweet and a RL125 dust collector that kicks butt!

Sorry to hear about that AD941. Nothing is more frustrating. It's a beauty though I was going to ask how you do anything without a planer. I didn't recognize that number. I have an AD741. It's nice, I'm wondering what you have that I don't, does it reach out and place the board on the table for you?  [smile] I may have to trade now. [scared]

Wife found a tool list I had. And set up a special delivery for me. The tools arrived on Christmas Eve around 3:30PM.
Mafell Z 5 Ec Bandsaw with 10 pack front / rear cutting teeth. With trolley. 120 volt.
Mafell ZSX Ec 400 HM Beam Saw, 2 extra carbide chains, Guide support, Trolley 120 volt.
Mafell LS 103 Ec Chain Mortiser 120 volt. 2" chain with bar, sprocket
Mafell 150 Mortise Guide, and extra 2" chain
Mafell LO 65 Ec MidiMax Hand Router, 230 volt.

To say the least I was stunned.  She was looking at Festool however realized I already own most of them. Her reason was simple. Build me that dream house........

You would think right.

No its mostly more robust castings and base. The tables have the prisims, the fence has the option for the handle to adjust the angel. The planer tables have the cast F style lip for extension tables as apposed to a bolt on bracket type.nthe planer tables moves on four spindles as apposed to two.

The handles used to raise and lower the tables are stainless and all fancy lol..

Thats pretty much it i think. As im told it is a old Format4 machine rebranded.

[member=8318]jacko9[/member] I know who'll do the cooking the next few month [wink]

At least most of the food prep.  I have been upgrading my kitchen knife collection over the past year and they sure are producing some very nice hand forged knives!

In addition to the Konosuke Fujiyama I also got a few of the  Teruyasu Fujiwara knives and a "laser Konosuke HD2" which I just sliced two fingers with a few nights ago.
