idea for a kitchen cabinet job, well sort of...

That drill, does it have a centershaft, apart from the 35mm cutting?

I have a piece of tabletop which is a little bent between two opposite corners. Is there a good method I can straighten it with? (40mm zebrano)?

Cheers,
Jacques.

That cutter above? It has a small center point is da wa u mean?

work top then?

Well I had a cupped work top they where  both about 1100 long. The first one I used my electric hand planner and took out most of the bow in the middle then had my planer set to 0.5 to get all them lines out I put in it with the planer then used a belt sander to get it all smooth again took a while had a straight edge I kept running across I got it very flat again it was still cupped under Neath but it didn't matter as no one can see that. The second one I decided to cut in half and get the workshop to send it through the thicknesser and then glued it back together on a joint you couldn't tell once sanded up.

Thanks. I may try it out, of it comes out not too nice.
I had it in a press for 24 hours, sanded it, oiled it and we'll see.
I think I wil try a nylon best to hold it in place, after working on the surface.
Anyway since I am new to this, and it's quite fun, I post a few pics of the idea I am making, so far.

So, a little update from a newbie. The cubboard is finished, and the rest remains for after Christmas  [big grin] I think my motorcycle calls for some tlc as well.
I expect to be a little off the family in the Hollidays, so I can swoop down in the mancave, and make myself a nice piece of wood for chopping vegetables etc.
Since the light is neon worklamp, and it's on the floor, the surface looks much darker than in reality. It's very Zebra like (or more like a Tiger, if you like)  [big grin]
The legs are four, one in each corner, 4 by 4 cm from the edges. The question remains: will this very heavy thing bend in time? If you good people think so, give me a hint, and I'll install e middle center leg e.g.?

Cheers,
Jacques.

I can add, that the handles are handmade by a friend, and though they look like a quite ordinary thing, sold by most companies, it's not, and they are not entirely straight  [wink], but that's okay by me.

I will see if I can get time to make a kind of homemade dividers for the drawers, espscially the knives.
Do some of you have good ideas for something like that?

Cheers,
Jacques.

Im guessing that you have bolted two 500mm cabinets together. anything aproaching a metre wide would benifit from having a 5th leg it can be set back from the front if needed.

Thanks,
They're 2*600mm plus 2*40mm.
I'll add a 5'th leg asap.

Cheers, and merry Christmas,
Jacques.

That's looking very nice Jaques, your in danger of losing your "newbie" status!  ;D

Rob.

Thanks Rob. I am looking for a nice chest project when on the other side of this kitchen.
We'll see about that newbie status then  [wink] On a serious note, it will take a lot to come a closer to you guys in ww.

I am going to try to rout some inlays for the drawers, for knives. Don't know if it's going to be a frame with attatched sides or a routed one-piece piece.

Cheers and merry Christmas,
Jacques.
