I'd like Festool to develop a quick-Fix Chuck for the T12, T15, and C12, that would turn the tool into an impact driver, instead of a drill. We've all been talking about impact drivers for... how long now? Maybe it'll be easier to get Festool to make one of these instead, since they won't have to set up a whole new tool program.
The main difference between a drill and an impact driver, construction wise, is what's at the end of the driveshaft; either a 3 jaw chuck, traditionally, or a spring loaded rotary impact mechanism. The difference is at the end of the driveshaft. We already have the ability to change the stock drill into a right angle drill, or a screw gun. We have 3 jaw chucks, centrotec bit holders, 90 degree, eccentric, and screw gun/ depth stop chucks. So, the ability to graft on this added capacity, which we've all been clamoring for, for so long, should realistically be something they can just make as a chuck, and not have to tool up a whole new tool line; an Impact chuck. It's actually in keeping with the concept of the Festool drills anyway... A motor, that can be made into a variety of tools, depending on what's hooked onto the end of it. And, it would really add to the value of the drill. It's one thing to choke down a big price tag for a drill that does a lot of fancy things, but is still basically just a drill. But a drill that can be converted into an impact driver would make it a much better deal, a much better value. And that's something that we don't get to say as often.
IMPACT CHUCK!!!!
