I just saw recently on some other tool review websites that Bosch and Fein are introducing a new oscillating multi-tool (omt) blade attachment mechanism that will require new designs for all new Bosch and Fein omt's. One of the Fein tools that will probably be redesigned to accommodate one of the new Starlock mounting system will be the SuperCut, which is what the Vecturo is based on. In a number of articles, there were blurbs about the noticeable absence of any talk of an attachment or accessory that would allow these new blades to work with the Vecturo. I am wondering if the Vecturo will be redesigned to follow whatever is done with the SuperCut, or if some sort of less than optimal adapter will need to be used to use any of these new blades.
I know that Festool has its own blades for the Vecturo, but are these made for Festool by Fein, of made by Festool directly? If direct, then this will really limit the variety of blades open to use with the Vecturo and make Festool into the sole supplier (if this new type of blade mounting system really takes hold). Does anyone have any thoughts on which way Festool will go? Redesign to use new mounting system, so go the other way and become even more segregated?
