In honor of the Kapex sale, Poll: What kind of stand do you use for your Kapex?

#5, fixed bench, ug side wings, SYS storage under, Kreg flip stop on back rail's, saw built into surround with more sys storage either side.

Sorry about the mess! I'm in the process of building my shop in my basement and moving everything over. Total disaster but it is coming along! Ryobi stand (#3) with both crown molding wings.

Mine is on the original Dewalt miter saw stand made by the same folks that produce the TracRack system for pickups.

UG stand and wings for me. In and out of the van every day. 5 minutes to set up and spot on every time. Wish the wing attached easier as not a lot of room on that wing nut for big hands.

MFT, crown stops and a cheap roller stand for long pieces. I have the older style wings but found I never have enough room in a kitchen to set up the whole thing, and besides it takes too long to set up. Also get to use the MKT for a workbench.

#6 for me. Keter and custom made wings.

For trim-Custom  2 piece stand built in 2001 with a new lower base unit from last fall. The base unit is wheeled (4-6" swivel wheels with brakes) and my Midi fits in it nicely.
For general carpentry- A DeWalt rolling stand and NOT the Kapex (Trim only!!!), but a new Bosch 12" DB Glide.
Both saws are mounted on 1/2" Baltic Birch plates with an interchangeable indexed mounting system I created so that either saw can go on either stand. I also have the indexed mounting system in my trailer. I throw two extra clamps on the base2shelf for redundancy. Nothing worse than bouncing a major tool off the shelf onto the floor!

I use the UG cart and wings. Compact storage and portability is important for my shop/garage. I had the Dewalt stand and a Dewalt CMS before I bought the Kapex last year and that setup was anything but portable.

UG cart and wings for mobility and sick of size and weight of other units
If mine were stationary I'd make my own of some sort

#2 with wings.  Takes longer to put them back in their holder than it does to set them up.  I'm amazed how solid they are.

This stand was built around 1990. Plans were from a mid to late '80s Fine Woodworking.

Over the years:  1) added Kreg stops 2) upgraded casters 3) shortened right side extension. And of course, the Kapex.

#2 for me.
Very handy and lightweight when transporting on ground floors or outdoor.
Not so handy when carrying it up the stairs. Then it's to bulky.
Then the saw can better be disconnected and carried separate.
Why are stairs a problem?

When the stairs are to steep the handle is to short when trying to use the wheels up the stairs.
You will fall down when trying to reach for the handle or when the wheels get stuck.
When the stairs are to narrow the complete Kapex and UG cart is to heavy and bulky to carry.
You cannot get your hands at places to carry it.
When the workplace is three stairs up these things can be a problem.
At least that my experience.

OK, with the last entry, the numbers stand at:
MFT819.05%
UG1228.57%
Other Mbl49.52%
Semi-Mobile37.14%
Shop-bound1433.33%
Other12.38%

Somewhat related, the words my wife has learned to fear: "So... Festool is having a promotion..."  [tongue]

I'm left seriously debating no-UG, UG, or UG+extensions. I'm leaning towards UG which gives me a portable and immediately usable saw stand. Whats the general feeling about the extensions? Is the fastcap bestfence a better, though more expensive option?
Should I forgo the stand and build my own? Decisions, decisions...

Currently using the UG Cart but preordered the MFT so I can put my CT36 under it.  I don't like it to the side of the UG.
