Is a Miter Saw Necessary?

A jigsaw on a rail is not going to usurp a mitre saw and vice versa. Two different methods of cut with two different capabilities and qualities.

A handsaw will enable cabinetry and to some extent surpass the cutting limitations of a jigsaw, so is a jigsaw really a must?

To what point do you take the argument?

I do have mitter saw Bosch and table saw Bosch. I use both a lot, BUT
Mitter saw has really limited cut length, around 300 mm or so.
If you think mitter saw is a must so how you make 700 mm long cut with a mitter. If you can skip it here, for 700 mm length, you can skip it and for short cuts. That is my point. Might be it take time but time is not in the question.

I just do not like to be with a lot of machinery around me, so trying to minimize.

So how you make 700 mm long mitter cut? Table saw, or Jigsaw with finishing.

If time is not of the essence, there's not much that IS necessary.  If you can get the results you need with a carving knife, that's the only tool you "need".

Until recently most cuts were made with hand saws and cleaned up with hand planes if required for fitting or finishing reasons.

Power tools save time and sweat but do not replace fundamentals of craftsmanship.  You can cut miters with most any saw you like, but if you want clean, tight miters you'll need to plane or otherwise true them or take them straight off a saw that cuts a finish-grade miter, chop saws being superior at this.

I'm gonna have to say that a miter saw isn't necessary if you're working in a shop with stationary tools. I find a miter saw to be too limiting for wide boards. I've cut 6 foot 8/4 lumber on my table saw with my Incra Miter 5000 sled. There's no finer angle adjustment than that sled. I only use a miter saw when I do framing, or I'm cross cutting wood flooring, where back and forth to the shop is inefficient. A miter saw is useful for jobsite work.
