Is it normal for the MFK 700 EQ plastic case to slip off easily

Bought this MFK700 EQ via the recon sale.  Looks like new.  I was surprised, however, how easily the back plastic cover slips off.  If you want to use the vertical base, you will naturally want to hold it from the back.  If you do that, the router would slip right out of your hand and you'd be left holding just the plastic cover, watching your router crash to the ground.

Is this normal?  I don't see how the cover could be better affixed (no tabs, etc) unless glued, or perhaps this is the intended design.

Wanted to know if this is how it is, or if I got a "special" one from the Recon sale.

At first I was going to say you are simply missing the screw that holds the brush cover to the motor housing. However, I can see the screw in your picture, which suggests your brush cover is broken. I've pointed out the screw in your picture.

So you may want to ask the service department if they can just send you a new brush cover (and stickers) instead of shipping the whole router back to them.

Rick,

You are the man!  Thank you for pointing that out.
