Yes, I think I made the dog comment. For us it wasn't just when the EC was sitting in off position, there was a subtle struggle while running to maintain an even plane with work surface. When I tell you we sometimes have the ETS running 5-6 hours a day almost straight I'm not exaggerating, but, that also means subtle things become a bother. If I picked it up to sand a few pieces in my home shop for 15 mins I might never notice it. Besides that there was a grab (sticky) feel to machine. Similar to how a Rotex feels when you are in the aggressive mode. This is probably a good thing as it means the machine is taking off materials fast, but again, fighting with the machine for 5-6 hours can wear you out. If the ETS is inferior in how aggressive it sands, for our purposes that is fine. UPDATE of sorts - My office manager returned the EC. Woodcraft took back, although insisted we were returning it because the the $375? price tag and not because of how we felt it operated. I received an Pro-5 via eBay - I paid the list price of a ETS 125 - $195? but received a $50 coupon. Someone still made $90 reselling it to me, but that's capitalism so no complaints on my end. It looks like they made a few improvements to the machine - The on/off switch is slightly larger which is good. Also they made the handle slightly larger, I'm assuming to relocate the venting from the top where it was to underneath. This always seemed a real stupid place to put a vent -where it would be covered with a hand. If the Pro-5 is half as durable as my old ETS125 I'll be thrilled. Now I can replace the cord attachment on old machine. The case that came with the Pro-5 is super cool looking. Suggestion - change over all the cases to that color scheme. All is right with the world now, and in the end I spent less money. Will be sure to buy one or two of the ETS when it comes out this summer or fall
