I see you guys post these phenomenal built ins and they have me salivating!  I look at these threads, and think, "i want to do that".  is there a good "how to" book on built ins that you guys can recommend?  or any other good source of knowledge on how to build these things?  i have watched some of Kreg's videos and they are great!  thanks

Fine Woodworking (Taunton Press) has a very good book in their "Best of Fine Woodworking" series called Designing and Building Cabinets.  Lots of great useful information I have found in there.

Kreg McMahon "honnydokreg" has a pretty good Utube series on building built ins

I like "Built-in Furniture" by Jim Tolpin.
He showcases a few of his own projects, but most are from others around the country.
He also details quite a few essential skills and methods the are different from ordinary in-shop cabinetmaking

Yeah I've watched all of Kregs vids.  Love them!  He makes everything seem so easy

Richard,
Your affinity for the first book you mentioned is reflected in the Amazon reviews. I ordered it and can't wait to take a look!  Thanks

Kreg also teaches a class at Highland Woodworking. He had one in November but have not seen one on the schedule for 2013.

He moved, I dont know if he'll be doing that anymore.

At least at that venue.

I hope he brings some new videoswith him along with some photos of his work.

I really really like that head board he made
