Hi!

I'm wondering if there's a problem with E-Mail notifications? Server hiccup?

I'm not getting any for the last couple of days while my e-mail seems to work fine in general.

Thank you for checking! :) [member=57769]TylerC[/member] [member=101]Festool USA[/member]

Kind regards,
Oliver

I haven't noticed a change in my notifications. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I've been getting email notifications.  I use Gmail and did notice that yesterday one of the notifications somehow got filed under the Promotions tab, where as they usually come into my Primary tab.

There seems to be a problem with the E-Mail address/provider I use here and on a couple of other forums. As I'm not getting notifications from any forum currently.

Sorry.

Kind regards,
Oliver

Hi

it is because festool forum has an error in the config of the antispam function there is called SPF

They are sending mail out from IP 52.50.75.238
Clip from mail header "Received: from ec2-52-70-75-238.compute-1.amazonaws.com ([52.70.75.238] helo=festoolownersgroup.com)"

but the SPF settings only list micrsoft office 365 and NOT the amazon host there is running the forum.
see SPF check here:https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=spf:festoolownersgroup.com&run=toolpage#

The correct SPF string will look like this:
"v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com ip:52.50.75.238 -all"

I have post details for it here on 8 jan.http://festoolownersgroup.com/feedback-on-administration/e-mail-notifications-has-spf-error/

Thanks! That explains it - especially since some don't have problems. Their mail host simply doesn't check the SPF record/ allowed servers. For a lack of better words/ knowledge on my part.

But I know mine does.

Again, thanks for finding this!

Kind regards,
Oliver

but who fixes it? Is it something that I have to do or something on the FOG end of things?

It is the admin/owner of the domain festoolownersgroup.com there has to change the DNS record for SPF

From:
"v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all"

To:
"v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com ip:52.50.75.238 -all"

So nothing you can do other then wait for admin to fix it.

Sorry, seems there was an typo...

Because i sent you the string with typo, now there is an error in the string...
See here:https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=spf:festoolownersgroup.com&run=toolpage

Incorrect one "v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com ip:52.50.75.238 -all"

Has to be "v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com ip4:52.50.75.238 -all"
Note ip has changed to ip4

For detailes on syntax, please read this page:http://www.openspf.org/SPF_Record_Syntax

Sorry about the wrong string  [embarassed]

Good morning.

I've corrected the DNS issue.  Many thanks to [member=69444]Tooms[/member] for the assistance and to everyone involved for bringing this to our attention.

Please allow roughly 60 minutes for the changes to take effect.

Regards,

Hi

it is better but not correct, seems the mails are from 52.70.75.238 and not 52.50.75.238 as the SPF says..

clip from header: "Received: from ec2-52-70-75-238.compute-1.amazonaws.com ([52.70.75.238] "

Looks like an type error happen......................

The todays correct SPF string will look like this:
"v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com ip4:52.70.75.238 -all"

[embarassed]

This was my mistake.  Sorry about that. Again, thank you very much [member=69444]Tooms[/member]!
