I have been reading (and reading, and reading) everything I can find on here since catching green fever a couple months ago. One of the things that keeps coming up is the issue of dealing with the Dust Collection hose, and secondarily the power cord. I would consider a hanging hose, but my shop ceiling is 16' tall at the center so to becomes a far less attractive option.

My latest stupid question is this: Does anyone make an ' IV ' pole style of device to hold the hose and cord? In fact, does anyone make one that would just slip into a 20mm hole so it could be quickly repositioned on an MFT if need be? Seems like a simple idea, but I have yet to hear about one. Maybe that's because in reality it doesn't work, or is a PITA, or ...

Still, I'd be interested to know if anyone has tried it?

That's exactly what I looking for. Seems awfully pricey for a simple chunk of steel rod - I guess I'm not yet used to paying the 'green tax'.

The vacs at the Henderson Training Center have the Festool part shown on them, honestly I found them annoying to use.

Check out Rockler, they have this that you could clamp to the MFT, $30 (part #47321)

You might be able get some heavy gauge wire and bend your own version to the length that you want.

I can, and I just might!

It's fairly simple to make an overhead hose hanger similar to the festool vac accessory with 1" ABS schedule 80 plastic pipe and fittings.  I attach mine to a Fein vac with a ratchet clamp and velcro strips.  You will need out riggers to prevent tipping; also ABS pipe.

I like the 20 mm idea. I bought some 25mm aluminum rod and had a gunsmith make me some dogs. I've been trying to come up with a use for the 4 foot leftover. 20mm on one end and 8mm threaded hole in the other. Heavy wire bent and threaded for 8mm and i'm in business.

Now I need to check if there is a Guiness category for the worlds tallest qwas.  ;D
