Which jigsaw blades should I get?  I have a perfectly good bosch jigsaw with some blades.  But I'm thinking of getting the festool barrel grip jigsaw for the dust collection and the zero clearance plastic thingy. (this really is an illness) Will the bosch blades fit?  Are the festool blades better?  I noticed that festool sells 100 different types of blades.  Which ones should I get?  I plan on cutting hardwoods, plywood, and melamine... and maybe a rare piece of sheet steel, aluminum, or brass.

Yes Bosch blades will fit.   I'm not sure but I think some festool blades are actually Bosch blades. A lot of festool accessories are not actually made by festal but they still charge you double the price just to stick festool name on it

Festool does make it's own accessories. Bosch does not make our blades. And our blades are competitively priced.

Festool and Bosch blades can be used interchangeably in our jigsaws.

I use Festool blades in my bosch jig saw all the time.

I also use a couple different bosch ones that I buy large quantity's of.

I think the Festool blades are a bit nicer then the bosch one's.  Not much price difference either.

Not all accessories or tools are made festool well a dealer told same people who make Bosch blades make festool blades. Don't blame me! [tongue] Wa about these accesories then

What these as you can get exactly the same but with out festool name on it and half the price.

To be fair to JMB, the blades may be 'competitively priced' in the US, but they are expensive here compared to Bosch. For example, to take a standard blade that's very common here in the UK, Bosch's T101B blades are £4.16 for a pack of 5 from Screwfix. The Festool equivalent, S75/2.5, is £9.60 for 5 (see here on Festool UK).

As you can see, that's a massive difference, even more than twice as much! I'm not commenting on the quality here, the Festool ones may be better or worse, I just don't know. Just on price.

I have a Festool jig saw and a Bosch jig saw and I use the blades from both companies in both saws.  I find that the blades from both companies are very good and couldn't pick one over the other.  But, the Festool jig saw that I own is a LOT better than the Bosch.

dunna bring me into it, just cus i kick your ass. [tongue]

festools pricing does suck on most stuff really and the extra quality you get does not justify the price at all, As for who makes what who care they all buy stuff in from other places and i aint having anybody tell me different, it mostly the reason for high prices. Hilti cordless drills are panasonic for instance and there circular saw is mafell.

Wouldn't we (and by 'we' I mean to say that I am having the same issue as Brice) still need another to interpret your translation?   [unsure]

I hope you understand what I am saying.  [tongue]

He does watch you a lot, cant blame him really  [poke]  I need to get my xbox live sorted out !

An alternative is the Wurth blades.  Not sure on the price but they are good quality & thick.

Woodguy.

Is the new Carvex going to have different blades?
Is there a catalog in print that I can get?
