For those who have known me for a while, I was also once employed by an online Festool dealer for a number of years before coming to Festool.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh,  I know that only too well.   Just glad to be working with you rather than having you as a competitor....I  was getting punch drunk.!

Shane can you tell us why the festool vac item is so much dearer than non festool vac item?

Because they are better. Full stop!
In my experience the Festool vacuum parts that I have used to replace the equivalent Bosch parts are much better designed and function much better.
For example, while one would think you couldn't improve on the design of a vac the hose nossel, (a nozzle is a nozzle is a nozzle as they say) the Festool part is easier to remove and replace, and allows the hose to turn much more freely than the Bosch nozzle. This enables the hose to stay where it's put and reduces the user from getting pissed off...at least from the machines.
