Is there any tricks or tips for replacing the splinter guard. I was very nervous pushing it in last time . I used pliers but it wasn't the easiest thing, don't really like forcing a plastic piece into a moving blade.

Place it in there and push the whole front of the machine against something flat and heavy to level it out. Does that make sense?

That makes sense and thanks for the video shane, that looks alot safer than how I did it the first time.

I have a picture of you pushing it in while the blade is on.. it's making me squirm!

I was holding it with pliers not my fingers ☺. Even doing that it still felt weird because you have to push hard.

The splinter guard actually has one more position.  You can push it in further than flush with the front of the base when the rest gets used up.  Just turn the saw 90 degrees and such it into a hard surface.
