Jobsworth is Wanting to Host a UK Meet & Greet

What to say that hasn't already been said?

I echo the previous comments, a massive thank you to Ron, Mrs Jobsworth, Child 1 Jobsworth and Child 2 Jobsworth.  The hospitality, effort, time and generous prizes were brilliant.  A most enjoyable and humbling day all round.

Ron has set the bar very high, a first class host.

Well done and thank you........

Well done Ron. Yes, I thought that I spotted JMB, along with Paul and Phil Beckley - I have never seen Phil enjoying himself so much!

More photos and some stories about what you did please.

Who else went?

Peter

here a couple more,

Basically Jonny Round Boy, Showed us some pretty kewl kit. Aesome ladder that Im gonna have to get once I return to the colonies and he showed some cool adjustable spacers a friend of is invented to easily attach cabinets to walls jonny how us he systainer with the radio and usb adapter. Man I wish I was that cleaver and he showed his van how it was organized and how he organized his kit., garry martin showed us how he used a incra track, with qwas dogs on his MFT  ILO the festool fence he had a incra stop block and metric tape for accuratly cutting pieces to length,  garry had a pair of those jessum hold down rollers which we play with in my CMS. they impressed me so much I ordered a set for me today..
JMB showed us and let us play with his chain mortiser that thing scared the heck outta me but sort of turned me on at the same time  [censored]

Phil brought the edge banding kit and let us play with it. Man that is one nice bit of kit, Im telling ya. The wife saw it and gave me a" wow thats so cool honny" not knowing how much it cost hehehehe

Phil brought the cordless TSC55 and let us play with it to. It is very nice has all the power of the corded version. We were cutting through a thick counter top with it like a hot knife through butter,, plus he brought the SDS and PDC, and the dry wall screw gun. All very nice.

In my mind I had a few things to show the guys but after things got rolling I was the student learning  things and spending time talking to everyone. What I thought was great is everyone there was either a pro carpenter or advanced woodworker, so different then the crowd one would normally find at a road show or wood show.

I mean there was such a huge knowledge base it was well awesome.

But some downside, garry pointed out some adjustments I need to make so here I am in the shop spending some quiet time adjusting a couple of my tools. [big grin]

here are some more photos. Ill have to do this ins a couple of post a well they are to big and Im lazy and dont feel like reducing the size right now  [wink]

forgot to post the photos,

Oh yea guys I apologize mama forgot to bring out the chili for the hotdogs and well I was haveing to much fun talking etc to break out the sno cones.

But if anyone is in the area please stop on by. Your always welcome .

Jmb i see you got some edgebanding there in a roll. Have you got it to do real wood off the roll? Or was that pvc?

Glad you guys had fun and had top weather.

Hope everyone enjoyed the event. It's always great to be able to meet fellow FOG members in person.

Phil sends his compliments to the cook, really enjoying the "American" burgers apparently.  [thumbs up]

I want to thank all that came.

I know some of you had a very long drive.

One guy is still on the road back to Edinburgh Scotland.

I didnt know exactly how this would turn out.

It was a first for me as Ive never done anything like this before.

...

Managed to get back to Edinburgh in just under 5 hours, and the trip was definitely worth it.  Like you Ron, I didn't know how this would turn out and if it would be worth the trip... but everything turned out to be brilliant.  All those great "toys", really interesting ideas and chat, great food, excellent goodies, sunshine etc etc

(Thanks also to Ron's great forward planning, I was able to schedule a couple of other visits into my trip, which helped.  Do you have a date in mind for 2015 yet...? )

Jan

Not yet, But there definitely will be something planned.

Ill have to take it up a notch,  as this was my first it was a learning experience.

I got a few ideas on improving the experience and organizing it better.

If someone else has one , Id like to share my ideas for improvement.

But Im glad you had fun.

I was impressed you chose to drive home after being with us all day.

I know I was worn out by the end of the day.

how did it handle it?

I haven't personally used the 2mm stuff I bought for myself.  Phil festool rep used it and it seemed to go on fine.

I let you know.      It was quick delivery I ordered it at 3 oclock afternoon got it fallowing morning.  So I know if I want some quick i know where to go.

No need to make my own.
