Today I finished up the assembly of the base unit, drawer, and slides. I also added a second coat of surfix finish. One more will be done at home to finish it off. I really liked working with the surfix alot actually. I sent it out UPS Ground in a crate so excited to get it back this friday. Jory, his team and family are fantastic people. It was really interesting to sit and discuss stuff with him and just hang out with him after we were done working each day. The other awesome part was to hang out with a bunch of people from the workshop that really love woodworking. Now I just have a long crappy red eye back to dreary old cincinnati. The shop out in the winery was worth the trip by itself.

Looks like a nice class. Is the Festool rail used to cut the miters for the box ? I've not been able to get perfect cuts with the 45 why I'm curious.
Everything was done with either a table saw, band saw, or router. No track saws were used and honestly a Table saw is really the best way to do it. This project is built around building a piece with tools that every wood worker has or has access too. Not everyone has festool stuff!

Is JB moving away from furniture design and construction?
No he actually has a big table due thursday that he has to start/finish! He is busy doing projects, this is just a way to meet people, have fun, and also even out the business in low times.

Major progress yesterday. Did some some cove sculpting on the table saw for the drawer front, some concrete work, built the drawer and got the first coat of finish (surfix) done and buffed. Looking good!
Looks good, where is the concrete going on your side table or is that just part of the course?
Tim
He went over how to do the concrete as a demo. There is not time to do both over a weekend. It was extremely informative! Ideas are now abound on where i can use it!

I'm extremely jealous right now. I love Jory Brigham's style, I'd like to one day be skilled enough to even learn from him.
Dude, just go for it! he and his his team are extremely helpful. there was one or two guys there with only a year or two of woodworking under their belt.
