Hi All,
Long time lurker but only just signed up for an account so sorry for the first post being a request for help.
A few days ago I was offered a KS 120 for a price I couldn’t refuse so it would’ve been rude not to take the offer and add a long awaited item to the collection. I was told the saw had issues but for the price it was worth the attempt at fixing it.
The issue is that the previous owner said the blade would slow during cutting however I’ve not experienced this yet. Although in fairness I haven’t used it in anger, just as a function test. I haven’t experienced any slow down in motor speed however I have experienced intermittent problems of the motor not starting at all and also the laser not working all the time. The laser also times out after around 2.5 minutes not the 30 minutes mentioned in the handbook.
From reading on here the slow down would point to replacing the armature and bushings however both seem ok from a visual inspection. My thought is the speed controller / electronic brain is not working correctly as the laser not working properly could be linked?
Is anyone able to cast any light on my diagnosis and any suggestions on anything else to test?
