Good Evening.

I have been a member for a few months and you guys are awesome.

This will be my second post.

I have a CT 26, 36 mm hose,  and a Turbo Vac II.  Will I lose any efficiency if I put my 36 mm hose on the Turbo Vac as dedicated to the Kapex and then use the CT 26 with the smaller hose for everything else or do I need to use the CT 26 for the Kapex as well?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

  Ed,

I am sorry, I don't understand your question too well. Are you asking if you use the 27 mm hose on your other Festool tools, do you lose the some amount of dust collection by not using your 36 mm hose on your other tools? Well, yes a bit on the 1400 and 2200 router, TS saws and planer, but not enough to swap out if it were for a few cuts. Do I understand you correctly?

Thanks for the quick response.

My question concerns the Kapex. If I use the 36 mm with the Turbo Vac will I lose much versus using
the 36 with the CT 26?

The CT 26 and 36 have the most suction (CFM) compared to similar dust extractors currently on the market (to my knowledge anyway). The Turbo II is rated at 116 CFM and the 26/36 are 137 CFM. That's almost 20% more suction.  If you're wanting to use your CT with the Kapex and with other tools and not have to worry about swapping hoses, consider using a splitter.

I think you would be OK using the Turbo II on the Kapex. I would also take Shane's advice & get the splitter & use it on the CT 26.
I have one & it greatly reduces hose swapping between tools.

I bought one with those intentions.  I only used for the first couple days.  I have not used it in months.
Still have to bend down and swap hoses and the plug.

Maybe I should start using it.

I think Chris is right, as are the others... The Turbo II with a 36mm hose should work just fein.

I also think the CT 26 would work better.

If you use a splitter, how do you close the unused line? Or do you?

I keep both lines open all the time. I use 2  1" hoses & I get plenty of suction through both.

I would use the fein on the kapex you do not need variable speed with the kapex.  Then use you festal vac with your other tools.
