Kapex calibration

So I have a new Kapex 120 Reb,
Have had it about a month, and used it for my first trim out job.
The saw was very nice out of the box, but as I used it over the last week, I noticed my miter cuts on the right side where a little open.
At the “heal” of the joint. Just the right side, left side was spot on.
I had thought it was the framing ( not good) but have since been thinking it’s the saw. Flash forward

Today l went through the process of a 4-cut calibration and still discovered the cuts off. Maybe a 1/16”-3/32” of an inch(sorry no metric today).
I did a few adjustments and got the left 45deg spot on but swinging the saw to the right still produced a slight gap. Again at the heal of the cut.

What should I do to address this, outside of sending it back, which I may do , but after the job is over.
Btw it’s all paint grade, but I need it better.
Thanks in advance
Charlie

I'm not sure if returning it will fix your mitre problem -- it may or it may not.

I calibrated mine following more or less this:

Dead-on mitres as seen in image.

The supplemental manual tells you how to adjust the scale. FestoolUSA.com, knowledge, manuals downloads, pg 25.

One other thing to check first, sometimes the fences will move if they're banged or something possible during shipping etc. Behind the split fence are 2 bolts, loosen them and if the fence is out you hear/ see it pop back then retighten.

You can also give Allen Kinsley or Don Ware a call they both work at Anderson Ply along with Don Ware. Those guys know these tools and like to help people and are very nice and just good people.

Could also be yer cutting technique.

Do you clamp the piece before cutting?

With the clamp engaged while yer cutting take your spare hand and put pressure on the piece pushing/holding it against the fence?

Stand infront of the saw using it as a slider not a chop saw?

Cut slow and letting the blade stop before raiseing the blade and removing the piece?

I wont tell you why and howI picked up those things  [blink]

Ok here is what I came up with
Left side 45 is great
Right side sucks
Tried everything , the detent plate, the back fence.
Seems to need about 3/32” pad on the right side fence.
And now the pictures I guess it’s going back .

First pic is the right side 45 deg detent,
The pic with the square that’s good is the left side.
If I adjust one side ,the other one is out.
Bummer.
On the bright side , the dust extraction is sooo good.
Plus I really like the saw.
