Kapex competition

Dewalt had a scms that had both rails on the same side (stacked vertically) a long time ago. As I remember it, the rails allowed the blade to flex from side to side more than the now more traditional rails placed side by side. I wonder if Makita has been able to overcome that.

When my Kapex dies I'll probably go with the Bosch Glide or the Dewalt combo saw, but kudos to Makita for continuing to push miter saw tech.  I really like the DW Flexvolt concept so unless that saw is a dog compared to the Bosch in terms of accuracy and ergonomics, it would probably be the one I'd get.

The FlexVolt is a phenomenal saw! I love mine. Currently working to improve the dust collection a bit. It's still much better than the Bosch glide saw.

I have the FlexVolt Mitre and Tablesaws and am more than satisfied with them. Dewalt has leaped ahead of the pack with the FLEXVOLT system. These are first Dewalt tools I have purchased in at least 15 years (other than their small portable tablesaw) so I was slow to purchase. I also popped for the blower, but that might be it for me. I never have liked their drills as they have always been to heavy for me. The Festool drills are more than adequate and much more friendly on arms for long periods of use.

I have had a Kapex that has worked perfectly since the day I bought it. The price was high when it was released and now it is insane. Anyone thinking about buying a mitre saw needs to look elsewhere considering for the same money you can buy two of the FLEXVOLT saws and be corded or cordless. Most of the Festools lineup is worthy of the price, but the Kapex is not one of them.

Makita as Kapex competition?

Thought Makita is more of a builders tool and Kapex is boutique joinery/professional hobbyist...

If I ever have to move back to a simpler dropsaw, It will be an Omga T50 350, I had one before and sold it when I upgraded to my current double mitre saw AL129.

If you think Kapex is accurate than you need to go and see your local Omga dealer or whoever has one, the whole saw is cast iron apart from the plastic blade guard.

The list price of a T50 is $4300 USD for a basic model, if you want its own stand and other bits and pieces, it can quickly make ones eye watery.
