Yeah I am hard on tools.
I don't treat them well.
I am not the type to kick the dog...
But I will hoist a miter saw up the side of a three story frame,
Then leave it there under the weather.
Go ahead cringe.
Per,you would leave a 1300 dollar miter saw.. Out side?
Yep.
It comes down to the end of the day.
And the beginning of the new one.
Is it still square?
Can it take a beating?
You know from the helper.
Dang straight.
And you know what makes me happy.
The helper.
He does not complain carrying from the truck.
So bottom line time.
I have as many miter saws around as some of you folks have girl friends
this one is a keeper.

Per.

That's really funny. That kapex would not last 3 days on my job site. Someone would steal it!

On a serious note I am so glad you had a good experience, me on the other hand would not wish that saw on my worst enemy. Well maybe my worst enemy. That table sucks, that table sucks, that table sucks, did I mention that table sucks?   :) Oops forgot the insert sucks too.  :) Bevel is nice to bad I rarely ever use it. Oops forgot the trigger and way it is turned on sucks too  :) laser is nice.  :)

Well, mine doesn't go through the rigors of a worktsite, but I do love it. Mine has its special little place inside the shop. It has a 'sheltered' life.

You lucky guys use this stuff at work and for work. I carve out a few hours here and there as recreation and relaxation. I probably wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I left that thing outside.

Granted, the table is small. But it makes up in other areas....would buy again if someone gave me some money.

per,

that was funny... sounds just like me and my tools... but I usually leave my chop in their garage and have 4 in shop and 2 in my kitchen......... oh and another in my van.... not kapex thou, and not going through that right now. but in the future a kapex is back on my list...

Ya know I waited for the Kapex to debut and then got it and loved it.  I was wondering if I was the only one that was right, but its a dream.  It don't move from my shop (I'm a hobyist), but never a problem.

I used a Dewalt 717 for a day. Great detent system, bevel and miter. Built like a tank, cut like a tank, threw dust like a tank. Still searching for quality I took my fourth try at a Kapex, opened it up at the store, and the green bevel knob would not stay in the -+45 position. It would stay in the -45 position and the -+47 position but if I selected the -+45 it pop out and return to the -45 position. So I did not take it home.

I got mine last summer some time, if I remember right. I've used it a lot and really like it.

Sometimes when I go to lift it, I remember what it was like to lift my partner's 10" Milwaukee. No fun.

Sometimes when I don't put on my hearing protection 'cause I don't need it I remember that other saw . . . like an aircraft taking off.

Sometimes I don't need to remember another saw just to enjoy the way this saw quietly does what a saw is supposed to do, not get in my way.
